simatch 是 FM 比赛引擎(Match Engine)使用的一组数据文件,位于游戏目录中,主要用于为引擎提供外部参数。

These "coders" have no access to the FM codebase at all, so have no idea what code changes have actually gone into the match engine between FM24 and FM26.

There's a few data files which feed into the match engine that are available within an "simatch" folder. The ME mods for FM24 essentially just edited some numbers in these data files with a text editor. That's it. You can check for yourselves. Any claims made about our code are complete speculation.

One of these files was the physical constraints file, which contained a range of numbers which were used inside the ME to determine the max physical limits of players e.g. the fastest a player can run, accelerate, decelerate etc. The ME mods just edited these numbers. At no point was any actual AI logic changed at all and no ME code was changed, or even viewable to them. The modders just edited these numbers in a text file and played some matches to see what happened.

This file was removed as part of a large refactoring work carried out as part of our match engine improvements for FM26. The fact that it no longer exists should have probably been a bit of a hint that... the ME has changed!

From what I've read, they don't know what the so called "AI file" is actually used for - which shouldn't be a surprise since they don't have any access to the actual code where any of these data files get used. This is also why they think the audio hasn't changed, because they saw that some data file is the same. If they could see the actual code they'd see than yes, in fact the audio code for the game has changed very significantly!

Anyone with any sort of engineering background would understand that the filesize of a data file being a bit smaller has no bearing on the quality of the simulation's output, to suggest it's a bad omen is frankly, laughable.

Getting in and out of possession tactics in the game alongside porting the entire match engine architecture to Unity took a monumental effort from our team. More than anybody outside the studio will ever know, and to see this person spreading malicious false rumours like this is insulting to their hard work and sacrifice, honestly.
